Privacy Policy
This explains what RemoteHires Africa collects, why, and what you can ask me to do about it. It is written plainly rather than in legal language, and it describes what the site actually does.
RemoteHires Africa is run by Muhammed Lukman, an individual based in Abuja, Nigeria. There is no company behind it and no staff. When this page says "I", it means that person.
The short version
You can read every job on this board without an account and without being tracked by me. An account exists so that you can keep your own saved roles, applications and CVs. I do not sell your data, I do not run advertising networks on the site, and I do not email you unless you asked me to.
What I collect
If you just read the board
Nothing that identifies you. The site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. Your browser stores one small preference locally (your chosen accent colour) which never leaves your device.
My host, Netlify, keeps standard server logs including IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running. I do not use those logs to build any profile of you.
If you create an account

If you sign in with Google
Google tells me your email address, your name and your profile picture URL. That is all I request and all I receive. I get no access to your Gmail, your Drive, your contacts or anything else in your Google account, and I cannot act on your behalf anywhere.
If you use the CV desk
Whatever you type into the CV builder, and any CV file you upload, is stored against your account so you can come back to it. Your CV text is sent to an AI provider to generate the document — see who processes your data below. If you order a paid CV service, I read what you send me, because a person doing the work is the point of that service.
Who else handles your data
I use a small number of established services to run the site. Each one only receives what it needs.

These providers store data outside Nigeria, mostly in the United States and the European Union. By using the site you accept that your data is processed in those places.
Affiliate and referral links
Some job listings and tools on this site are referral or affiliate links. Those are labelled on the card itself. When you click one, the destination company may set its own cookies and will know you arrived from here. What happens on their site is governed by their privacy policy, not this one.
I may earn a commission when someone signs up through those links. That is how the free side of this site is paid for. It does not change what I tell you about a role, and it never costs you anything.
What I never do
- I do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to anyone.
- I do not share your CV or application history with employers, recruiters or anyone else without you asking me to.
- I do not run third-party advertising or tracking networks on this site.
- I do not email you marketing you did not sign up for.
How long I keep things
Account data stays until you delete your account. Job alert subscriptions stay until you unsubscribe or pause them. Uploaded CVs stay until you delete them or close your account. If an account sits unused for three years, I may delete it after emailing you first.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask me to:
- Show you everything I hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete your account and everything in it.
- Export your data in a readable file.
- Stop emails, at any time, without deleting your account.
Email globeremote@gmail.com and I will do it within 30 days, usually much sooner. You do not need to give a reason. If you are in Nigeria, the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 covers this; if you are in the EU or UK, the GDPR does. Either way the answer is the same: ask and it is done.
Children
This site is for people looking for work and is not intended for anyone under 16. I do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, email me and I will remove it.
Security, honestly stated
Passwords are hashed, the site runs over HTTPS, and database rules mean one account can never read another account's rows. That said, no website is perfectly secure, and I am one person rather than a security team. Do not store anything in your CV that you would not want exposed — there is no reason to put your national ID number, bank details or date of birth in a CV anyway.
Changes to this policy
If I change something meaningful, I will update the date at the top and, for account holders, email you before it takes effect.
